Ribbon Pakoda

Ribbon pakoda is one of my favorite Diwali recipe. My mom used to make a huge tub of these during Diwali and send it across to all my relatives and friends.I still remember helping my mom to make the ribbon pakoda with press during my school days. This simple recipe makes me all nostalgic.  Though My mom’s recipe takes a longer time and effort, I simplified the recipe and here it is…

Ingredients:

Rice flour – 2 cups
Gram Flour – 1 cup (Besan Flour)
Split chickpea flour – 1 spoon ( Pottu kadalai/ Dalia flour)
Butter – 2 tbsp
Chilly powder – 1tbsp
Oil for frying
Salt to taste
water

Method:

Mix all the above ingredients add water little by little until we make a soft dough.

Using a ribbon pakoda press.

Press the dough in the oil and fry it in oil till the color change .

Drain the oil and cool and store it in an air tight container.
