Sulokshana Athai’s Lamb Curry/Goat Curry


Ingredients:

Goat / Lamb – 1 pound
Minced Pearl onion or Shallot – 2 pound
Chilly Powder – 2 tsp
Ground Pepper – 1 tsp
Pinch of Turmeric
Salt to taste
Oil

To Grind:

Whole dried red chilly  – 6 – 7 nos
Cumin Seeds – 2 & 1/2 tsp
Coriander Seeds – 2 & 1/2 tsp

Method:

Dry roast the to grind ingredients until the roasted aroma fills the air and grind into a fine powder.

Heat a pressure cooker, add oil and saute the onion until it gets a golden brown.

Now add the lamb pieces and saute for 2 minutes.

Add the turmeric powder, grind powder, chilly powder, pepper and salt. Mix them and keep 5-7 whistles in the cooker.

Then open the lid and cook for 20 – 25 minutes at a medium low flame.
