Kothu Chapathi with Egg & Chicken

I was wondering what to cook for dinner tonight??? After a long day of fun baby sitting, having lunch with a friend @ a Malaysian restaurant and watching Dookudu movie (Telugu language). Yes, I’m a big fan of Mahesh babu and his smile. When I came back home in the evening I opened my refrigerator and saw my chapathi dough resting, some eggs & some leftover chicken curry and then the idea of making Kothu chapathi popped into my head. My mom used to prepare it when we were kids, when we wanted to eat something different and which was a great substitute for Kothu paratha. This makes me nostalgic.


Chapati – 6 nos cooked cut into small pieces
Chicken curry – 1 cup
Egg – 3
Onion – 1 cup finely chopped
Tomato – ¼ finely chopped
Curry leaves – 15
Cumin powder – 1 tsp
Chili powder – 1 tsp
Thai green chili – 1
Ground black pepper – ½ tsp
Salt to taste
Oil – 1 – 2 tbsp
Cilantro leaves – to garnish


Heat oil in a wide pan.Add the curry leaves and the chopped onion cook until it gets a golden brown color. Add the Cumin powder & chili powder. Cook for a minute.

Add the tomato and add the cut chapati immediately. Stir in the Chicken curry, mix well until the chapati is coated with curry evenly.

Add the eggs, mix well and keep in the flame until the egg is cooked. Season with salt and pepper. Garnish with cilantro. Serve hot.

    super… I had only kotthu parota in my life. this is a new dish, am gonna try it soon.
